Y107 in Columbia, Mo. is Named North America's Most Caring Radio Station, Foresters Will Donate $50,000 to Station to Benefit MU Children's Hospital

SALT LAKE CITY (Feb. 8, 2010) – Children's Miracle Network and ForestersTM, a life insurance provider that champions the well-being of families, announced today the winner of an online campaign: The Search for North America's Most Caring Radio Station presented by Foresters.

Y107, a member of the Zimmer Radio Group in Columbia, Mo. was the radio station with the most votes at the end of the promotion and will receive $50,000 from Foresters to benefit MU Children's Hospital, the station's local Children's Miracle Network Hospital. Foresters sponsored this search to mark its renewed commitment as the international underwriter of Children's Miracle Network's Radiothon program and to generate support for this successful program. Over the next four years, Foresters will provide more than $6 million to underwrite the costs of the Radiothon program, ensuring all dollars raised during Radiothon remain with the local hospitals.

The Search for North America's Most Caring Radio Station took place between Monday, Jan. 18 and Friday, Feb. 5, 2010. Almost three million votes were cast over the three-week promotion, which allowed anyone to visit radiocares.childrensmiraclenetwork.org and vote for the Children's Miracle Network Radiothon partner of their choice.

The Zimmer Radio Group has supported Children's Miracle Network for three years by hosting an annual Radiothon event to raise money for MU Children's Hospital. In 2009, The Zimmer Radio Group raised $225,000 during its Radiothon. The $50,000 award for being named North America's Most Caring Radio Station will be added to the station's 2010 Radiothon total.

"This campaign was exciting to follow, as two Radiothon partners were fighting for first place up to the last day," said Scott Burt, president and CEO, Children's Miracle Network. "With more than $370 million having been raised through Foresters support of Children's Miracle Network, it is rewarding for us, along with Foresters, to help honor and boost the charitable efforts of the Radiothon partners who have been doing so much for us for more than 10 years."

"Thank you to all participants who cared enough to support their local Radiothon partner and local Children's Miracle Hospital," said George Mohacsi, president and CEO, Foresters. "Foresters became the founding sponsor of Radiothon in 1998 and we continue to be the underwriting sponsor because we have a shared commitment with Children's Miracle Network to support children's health."

Children's Miracle Network currently engages more than 340 stations to participate throughout North America in the Radiothon program. Radiothon dollars are used to fund life-saving medical care, preventative education programs and research into childhood diseases. In addition to its generous financial support, Foresters volunteers commit countless hours to their local Children's Miracle Network hospitals.
