Prevention of Child Abuse
Today, families are looking for simple and inexpensive opportunities to spend time together, while also engaging in healthy physical activity. Playgrounds provide children with the space to explore and have fun while spending time with family and friends. Public play spaces also offer families a chance to get active and connect with others in their community. Unfortunately, nearly half of North American parents say there are no family play spaces within walking distance of their homes.*

Foresters Playground Builds
To address the need for family spaces, Foresters has partnered with KaBOOM! to build playgrounds for our members and their communities. KaBOOM! is a non-profit organization that envisions a great place to play within walking distance of every child in North America.
These playground builds also serve as volunteer opportunities for Foresters members to join in creating new play spaces where children and their families can explore and have fun.
In 2010, Foresters volunteers, in partnership with KaBOOM!, will create 20 new play spaces across North America.
At Foresters playground builds, our members can work with others in their community to create a safe and fun place for children to play – all in just one day!
